Niccolo Machiavelli was born on May 3rd 1469 in Florence Italy. He eventually became a became a philosopher, writer, and politician and was one of the funders of modern political science. Machiavelli started out his political endeavors as the secretary of the Florentine government. When Machiavelli lost his office position, he composed The Prince, a book depicting the goals of the Medici. People were horrified by the beliefs in the book and this reputation followed him to the grave. He died in 1527.
